Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute freewrite. September Writer’s Notebooks are due. Check Story Machine story. Check for your “interview” of your vintage photograph character. Begin writing your Vintage Photo inspired story. Meet with Mrs. Wood for brief writing conference. HW: Finish your Vintage Photograph story.

Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute freewrite. September Writer’s Notebooks are due. Continue with Radio Drama. Finish listening to Orson Welles’s broadcast of “The War of the Worlds.” Watch the documentary about the panic. HW: Listen to the first episode of any podcast of your choosing and complete the podcast investigation handout thoroughly for discussion next class.  Reminder: Writer’s Eye drafts are due on the 16th.

English 9 A/A ~ Return anymore graded work. Check Unit Two words for DIC/DICT: edict, indict, dictum. Using your vocabulary words, complete the Unit Two Exercises. Hand them in when completed. Finish reading “The Scarlet Ibis” and complete the worksheet. HW: Study your Unit Two words for quiz on Friday.

Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute freewrite. Reminder about the VHSL Media State Championship in Richmond on Oct. 9, the $60 is due Wednesday! Discuss Writer’s Eye 2017.
