Once completed, write a scene where your character is encountering this setting.  Pay attention to details and sensory imagery. Make your audience feel they are there with your character. Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write. Take the time today to create your own monster, whether good or bad. As a class, brainstorm and write all the things you want to know about a monster on the board up front.  What do we need to know to create a monster? Features, colors, powers, good/evil…Come up with as many details as possible to create a Monster Characterization checklist or chart that each student must complete for their monster. Create a monster using the checklist. Sketch your monster, as well. HW: 5th day free write, writer’s notebook.

English 10 Honors ~ Begin class with a 10-minute Silent Sustained Reading. Hand-in the “Two Kinds” character worksheet. Complete the quiz for “Two Kinds.” CHARACTER powerpoint and discuss it with the class. THEME powerpoint and discuss it with the class.  Complete worksheet for “The Bet” as you read the story “The Bet” by Anton Chekhov. HW: Complete “The Bet” and the worksheet, 5th day free write, Vocabulary Session 20 and 21.
