Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write.  Reminder: One (but up to three) written pieces are due by February 5 for the lit mag submissions.  Watch the video above about the poet-soldier John McCrae and the inspiration for his poem, “In Flanders Fields.” Review the handout on the Rondeau form.  Read “In Flanders Fields” and notice the rhyme scheme and refrain used throughout the poem.  Write your own Rondeau about any subject.  Need some ideas: How about family, a historic event that impacted you, a famous person, or your dreams. Hand-in your written Rondeau poems.
