Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write.  Check for completed cinquain poems and share for extra credit.  Return any poems for instructor feedback.  Begin discussion on Nature poetry.  Look at nature poems by Mary Oliver and Billy Collins.  HW: Writer’s Notebook.  Write your own Nature poem, minimum of eight lines.  Patrons are due by March 2.  Your piece to submit to the lit mag is due by February 6.

Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write.  Distribute staff t-shirts!  Discuss other team bonding activities such as the Valentine’s Party during CHAT on February 12.  Mandatory for ALL STAFF.  Be here by 12:10 for cupcakes, fun, and opening your valentines cards.  Your completed valentines box is due by Friday, February 6.  You must stuff staff boxes by CHAT on February 12.  Review the Elements of Unity in magazine design and discuss new terminology such as: gutter, bleed, reverse type, font, typography, and so forth.  HW: Writer’s Notebooks.  Get those patrons due by March 2.  Your three submitted pieces are due by February 6.
