Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a ten-minute free write.  Check off that students have written at least three pages on their Story Machine stories. Flash Fiction! What is it and how does one write one?  Write a flash fiction piece which is due by the end of class.  If time allows, share your pieces. Who wrote one first, no more than 100 words? Who’s is the funniest? Who’s is the creepiest?

Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a ten-minute free write.  REMINDERS TO ANNOUNCE: 1.  For those students going on the VHSL Conference Friday. We are leaving at the flagpole at 7 AM. Don’t be late! We will be returning at 5:30 PM. Make sure you have eaten breakfast before arriving, or be eating breakfast on the ride to Richmond. You may want to bring a few dollars for soda/water while at the convention. Lunch is already paid for. Bring something to write with because you will be taking notes! 2.  We need candy for ghoulie grams. Bringing in candy is NOT required. For each bag (about 24 pieces) you will receive credit for 5 writer’s notebook pages. You may submit up to 6 bags for a total of 30 pages. These candies should be fun-sized. Do not bring in candy with peanuts or peanut butter. These must be individually wrapped candies. 3.  Go to Mrs. Wood’s website: cwood2blog.wordpress.com. There is a post about Writer’s Eye with a link to the google slide created featuring this year’s art selections. We will discuss expectations next class. There is also a post about the upcoming Bus Lines competition.

Google Workshop–read, comment, then discuss in workshop the following essays: (1st) Kamryn, Emily, Kayleigh; (5th) Rachel, Maggie, Theresa. Do not make corrections until I have been able to add my comments and tally everyone else’s.
