“I’m no hero.  I put my bra on one boob at a time.” ~Tina, Bob’s Burgers

Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write.  Collect your two Non-Fiction pieces: birthdays/celebrations and embarrassing moment.  Read the story, “Nerf, Ninjas, and Beauty Products.”  Discuss the Creative Non-Fiction.  You must tell a true story, but show more, tell less.  Use figurative language, sensory imagery, detail, precise vocabulary, just as you do in poetry and fiction.  HW: Write a Fear story about a time you were scared.  Don’t forget to make it suspenseful, too!

Creative Writing 2-4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute free write.  Review True Grit Lesson Six.  Lit Mags are here!  We must distribute to those published.  Select a completed spread from the server.  Complete a Spread Checklist and write on the chart which spread you want Mrs. Wood to grade.  HW: True Grit Lesson Seven.  You must complete a ballad with a Western theme.  Make sure you ballad lists the two Western elements you are included.  This does not have to be set in the Old West.  Maybe it’s sci-fi: an anti-hero with a mysterious past who rides a dragon (trusty steed).  1st period is due on Monday, 8th period is due on Tuesday.

Filmmaking ~ Seniors must be done with their film editing.  Have you QuickTimed it and burned it on a DVD?  Underclassmen, continue editing your footage.  FINAL deadline is Thursday, May 14.  No more extensions!
