Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a ten-minute free write.  Check for completed Pantoum poems and share for extra credit.  Discuss the offerings for teen writers at VA Festival of the Book for Saturday, March 22.  Show the powerpoint of Chip Kidd from Ted Talks.  He will be visiting creative writing students in March!  Woo hoo!  The rock star of the book design world!  Watch the video of former US poet laureate, Billy Collins, reading “You, Reader.”  We read a few of his other poems in class, too.  HW:  You have a final, revised poem due for workshop on Thursday, February 27.  If you have it reviewed at the writing center, you will receive five extra points on your workshop grade.

Creative Writing 2-4 ~ Discuss the offerings for teen writers at VA Festival of the Book for Saturday, March 22.  Chip Kidd will be visiting creative writing students in March!  Woo hoo!  The rock star of the book design world!  Students will finish selecting art submissions for the lit mag.  Reminder, $50 patrons are due by March 14.
