Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a ten minute free write. Check for completed metaphor poems. Break up into small groups of 3-5 students to mini-workshop your metaphor poem. Discussion on poetry editing and the purpose of revision. Look at examples of Wood’s revisions and Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening.” Collect Writer’s Notebooks. HW: Revise one of your poems and turn it in next class. You must include the original draft and the final revision.

Filmmaking ~ Return graded self-portrait documentary critique sheets. Discuss what we learned from this project. Begin discussion on big, independent film project. Watch student films for inspiration. Discuss how to come up with a treatment and plan to write one. HW: Narrow down your film project idea because your treatment is due Friday!
