Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a ten-minute free write. Review metaphor poems from last class, “A Martian Sends a Postcard Home” and Plath’s, “Metaphors.” Discuss and share examples of extended metaphor poems. Read and discuss Plath’s, “Tulips.” What is unusual about the metaphors used in the poem? Work on your own extended metaphor or multi-metaphor poem.
