Creative Writing 1 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute freewrite. Continue Extended Metaphor discussion. Read and discuss Plath’s poem, “Metaphors.” Bus Lines is due 12/7.  HW: Write your own Extended Metaphor poem, minimum of 8 lines.

Creative Writing 2, 3, 4 ~ Begin class with a 10-minute freewrite. Label your staff photo. Bus Lines is due 12/7. Read and Discuss interesting figurative language. Read and discuss the 8 schemes poem. HW: Write your own poem using the 8 schemes. Label each scheme as it is used.

English 9 A/A ~ Begin with Do Now 10 E. Return all graded work including Vocab 4 Exercises. Continue the Daily Writing Paragraph of Book 1. Look at this example. Distribute Part 1 Study Guides and as a class, complete the study guides for Book 1. On your own, quietly read Book 2 (pages 724 -727) and complete the Study Guide questions. Write a Daily Paragraph for Book 2, pick a character and name their trait. Turn in paragraph by the end of class. This is the rubric Wood will be using to grade it. HW: Vocab 4 Quiz and 5th Day Written Freewrite due next class Dec. 1 or Dec. 4.
